Juventus have suffered heavily from injuries this season but still manage to stay in the title race.
The Bianconeri aren’t completely out of the race; however, they will need to be nearly perfect and have some luck to win it. So far, Juventus have accumulated 27 points with six wins and nine draws, without any losses.
Despite being unbeaten, Juventus currently sit in sixth place, seven points behind the league leaders, Atalanta. Even with this significant gap, the title remains within reach for Juventus, as there are still 23 games left with 69 points up for grabs.
However, if Juventus wants to seriously contend for the title, signings will have to be made. Juventus needs a centre-back and a full-back for depth, primarily due to the ACL injuries to both Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal earlier in the season.
A striker is also needed to support Dusan Vlahovic, given the injury to Arkadiusz Milik. Milik has been sidelined since before Euro 24 and still hasn’t returned.
His expected return date was set a month and a half into the season, and as we approach January, he still hasn’t played. This situation means a third player is needed for Thiago Motta’s Juventus squad.
This scenario has left Cristiano Giuntoli prepared to make signings and invest money in new players. He is gearing up and trying to conduct his business early to ensure new players can participate in more league games in January.
Giuntoli is already working on securing a key defensive signing in Antonio Silva. Silva is similar to Bremer – big and confident on the ball. His signing would also allow Pierre Kalulu to play more minutes at full-back.
The deal is speculated to be a loan, with Giuntoli and Benfica reportedly talking every day. This urgency from Giuntoli to act fast is to allow time for other signings, proving Juventus’s ambition to make significant moves in January.
