Igor Tudor reacts to Juventus draw against Reggiana
Juventus began their pre-season campaign with a 2–2 draw against Reggiana at the Continassa Training Center.
The match marked the return of defender Gleison Bremer, who played his first minutes since a long injury layoff last October.
Manager Igor Tudor used the friendly to rotate the squad, fielding different lineups in each half to assess player fitness and readiness.

He acknowledged some players were physically ahead of others due to varying preseason form. Tudor also praised Bremer’s return but noted he would need more minutes to regain his level.
Interestingly, several senior players including Arthur, Timothy Weah, and Douglas Luiz were left out entirely. New signing Jonathan David was involved from the start, indicating Tudor’s intent to test recent arrivals early.
On the pitch, Juventus equalized in the first half through César after falling behind to Reggiana. Dusan Vlahović then gave Juve the lead before Gondo capitalized on a defensive lapse to level the game again in the second half.

Head coach Igor Tudor used the friendly to systematically assess the entire squad by fielding different line‑ups in each half. Speaking after the match, he was clear about what the session was designed to test:
“It was a good test for us today, and the level of training we’ve done was really felt and so, naturally, we felt that tiredness as a consequence. Physically, as is normal at this stage, some of the guys are a bit ahead and others a bit behind, so today was a useful session for us.”
The coach praised Bremer’s recovery but emphasised there is still work ahead:
“I’m happy to have Gleison [Bremer] back, and of course he’ll need a bit of time to get back to his level.”
Reflecting more broadly on the early days of training, Tudor added:
“I’m satisfied with these first few days’ training, they’ve been full of good work, and the new arrivals have settled in well immediately. There’s a real desire in the squad to have things done the right way.”
Tudor also previewed the next phase of preparation:
“Now, we’re ready for the season part of pre‑season in Germany. Things officially start in three weeks’ time and we’ll be working hard.”
As Juventus travels to Germany next to face Borussia Dortmund, the coaching staff will transition the focus from fitness assessment to tactical refinement.
