Juventus appoints new technical director for 2025-26 season
Juventus have officially selected François Modesto as their new Technical Director ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
The decision was made by Juventus General Manager Damien Comolli, who had previously announced plans to reinforce the club’s sporting structure with new key appointments.
Modesto, who most recently served as Sporting Director at Monza, will now join the Bianconeri in a pivotal role.
A former professional footballer, Modesto enjoyed a successful playing career with clubs such as Bastia, Monaco, Cagliari, and Olympiakos before transitioning into football management.
Known for his sharp eye in talent identification and strategic planning, the Frenchman is expected to play a significant part in shaping Juventus’ sporting future.
In his new role, Modesto will work closely with head coach Igor Tudor and GM Damien Comolli to oversee daily operations of the first team.
Hs duties will also extend into scouting and recruitment activities, helping the club identify and secure future stars.
During his press conference in June, Comolli made it clear that both a Technical Director and a Sporting Director would be hired ahead of the new season, with Modesto now confirmed as one of those appointments.
Comolli has already made his presence felt this summer by leading the signing of Canadian striker Jonathan David on a free transfer from Lille.
However, the club faced an early setback after being eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup by Real Madrid earlier this month.
Juventus will officially begin their pre-season training on July 24, with their 2025-26 Serie A opener scheduled against Parma at Allianz Stadium on August 24.
As Juventus aim to re-establish themselves as a dominant force in Italian and European football, Modesto’s appointment marks a new chapter in the club’s long-term project.
