AC Milan had an extraordinarily poor season last year missing out on all European football. It was clear the club had to go under a small scale rebuild after a poor managerial hire. Before the start of the season Milan bought in Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca.

However, Fonseca completely under delivered making it less than half the season. He was then replaced by Sergio Conceicao, but he was not a long term solution for Milan. Before the start of this transfer window AC Milan bought in former Juventus manager Max Allegri.

AC Milan have looked to rejuvenate their squad, to give Allegri the best chance for a high table finish next season. So far, Milan have done well so far by bringing in Koni De Winter, Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari and Samuel Ricci. But not a single one of these players is an attacker which is still a role Milan need.

One of the rumoured names was current Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. This is because he has already worked with Max Allegri together at Juventus and they got along well. Vlahovic is up to sale by Juventus because he has one season left for his contract.

So far talks between Juventus and Vlahovic camp aren’t going well so he will likely leave at some point. This has left Juventus trying to recoporate their losses on the Serbian striker rather than letting him leave in a year for free. Juventus also want to raise funds to bring in other signings.

This is because, Juventus like Milan also have a new coach Igor Tudor who is trying to revamp his squad to help push for a top of table finish. However, Juventus might need to raise funds from elsewhere as Milan could look to bring in a different striker.

According to Gazzetta dello sport, AC Milan are looking to sign Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund instead. Milan and Manchester United have begun talks. So far the talks would see a loan with a buy option to complete the deal. The deal would have a loan fee of €6M, but the two clubs are yet to agree on a buy value.

The english side are asking for a buy option of €40M to sell Hojlund to help cover some of their capital gain losses. However, for Milan this valuation is too high of an asking price for the danish striker. Milan would rather pay something in the ballpark of €30M.
