Kenan Yildiz speaks on Golden Boy Award and life at Juventus

Juventus’ promising young winger, Kenan Yildiz, has expressed his pride after being honored with the Golden Boy award, as reported by Tuttosport.

“Golden Boy? I am proud of this award, especially because it comes from the fans’ judgment. We play for them, to give them emotions and make them happy. This time, they’ve made me happy,” Yildiz shared.

Commenting on his burgeoning career, the 19-year-old said, “I’m just at the beginning. I have a lot to learn and many aspects of my game to grow and improve on. But as a start, it’s not bad…”

Yildiz has found a home in Turin, praising the city and its people, as he said, “I feel very comfortable here. Turin is a beautiful and tranquil city which I love, and the people are kind and respectful.

“I can walk around the center without any issues, enjoying lovely strolls. Of course, sometimes someone stops me for an autograph or a photo, which I’m more than happy to give.”

He highlighted the importance of Juventus’ Next Gen team, saying, “From this perspective, Next Gen is very important as it allows the younger players to prove their worth without suffering too much from the jump to the first team.

“It’s great that the club has no qualms about betting on youngsters like me, Savona, Mbangula, Adzic, Rouhi. It’s up to us to make sure the club is happy with such choices; we have everything here to succeed, it’s up to us to give our best and repay Juventus for their trust.”

Yildiz described the Juventus squad as a tightly-knit group, saying “We are very united, and I get along well with everyone. I wouldn’t say I get along better with anyone in particular, but naturally, being one of the younger players, I spend most of my time with teammates of similar age.”

Receiving accolades from a legend like Paul Scholes was a boost for Yildiz. Kenan Yildiz said, “Being appreciated by a champion like him is a great source of pride and satisfaction, especially since his compliments came after an important win like the one against Manchester City.”

On his relationship with social media, he remarked, “Honestly, I’m not a social media fanatic. I use it, of course, like all young people my age, but it’s also important to unplug and pursue other interests.”

When asked about questions he gets about Juventus, Yildiz responded, “More than what they ask me, what’s important is what I answer! And that is, this is an extraordinary club, and wearing this shirt, especially the number 10, fills me with pride.”

Looking five years into the future, Yildiz was clear about his ambitions: “On the pitch, giving everything to win with this shirt.”
