Vlahovic future uncertain as Juventus hopes for a resolution like Chiesa situation last year
With the transfer deadline fast approaching, the future of Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic remains up in the air.
Despite persistent rumors linking him to various top clubs, a move away from Juventus is looking increasingly unlikely. As the clock ticks down, the Serbian forward hasn’t found a new home, and his options appear to be dwindling.
Milan and Napoli Drop Out of the Race
The biggest shift in the Italian transfer market is the withdrawal of two of Vlahovic’s primary suitors: AC Milan and Napoli.
AC Milan, who were considered the most serious Italian club interested in Vlahovic, have shifted their focus. After failing to secure Rasmus Hojlund, they have now reportedly finalized a deal for Victor Boniface.
This move signals the end of Milan’s pursuit of Vlahovic, though a highly improbable scenario could see them return to the table if Santiago Gimenez were to be sold.

Meanwhile, Napoli’s initial interest in Vlahovic, which came after an injury to Romelu Lukaku, has also faded. The club has now made Hojlund their top priority, a player reportedly favored by manager Antonio Conte.
Even if the Hojlund deal falls through, Napoli has other alternatives, and a move for Vlahovic now seems off the table.
This leaves Vlahovic with few prospects in Serie A. While other clubs like Roma are in the market for a striker, a move to the capital is improbable.
The high transfer fee and significant wages required for Vlahovic appear to be too much of a risk for any Italian club, including Juventus itself.
Premier League and the ‘Chiesa Precedent’
Juventus is holding out hope that an unexpected opportunity might emerge from the Premier League.
The club is banking on a last-minute scramble, similar to what happened with Federico Chiesa, who was surprisingly transferred to Liverpool in the final hours of the previous summer window.
Clubs like Newcastle United are seen as a potential option. With their significant financial resources, the Magpies could afford both Juventus’ demands and Vlahovic’s wages.

Newcastle is currently dealing with a complicated situation involving Alexander Isak, which could prompt them to make a move for the Serbian striker.
However, a deal for Vlahovic would be more challenging than Chiesa’s due to his significantly higher salary.
The Player’s Stance
Vlahovic’s own preferences are a major factor in his uncertain future. He has already rejected offers from Saudi Arabia, a league that could easily meet his financial demands.
However, Vlahovic is not interested in playing in a less competitive league, a sentiment that also led him to quickly turn down a summer move to Fenerbahce.
While the Italian and English transfer windows are set to close soon, other leagues, like those in Saudi Arabia (until September 11) and Turkey (until September 12), have later deadlines.
This leaves a small window for Vlahovic to reconsider his stance if no other opportunities arise.
As the clock ticks down, Vlahovic’s future hangs in the balance. He either finds a last-minute suitor or faces the real possibility of spending the season as a backup at Juventus, a far cry from the starring role he had hoped for in Turin.
