Juventus being unable to sell has stopped signings from coming in.
So far this summer Juventus hasn’t been one of the busiest teams in the transfer market, but they have been doing their fair share. So far Juventus has bought in Jonathan David, Joao Mario and Francisco Conceicao permanently after his loan. But the club is still trying to make more moves before the end of the merecato.
However, the club is having issue trying to find money to spend to fund these transfers instead of closing them. This is due to the fact that ever since Covid, Juventus has run at a lost. This lead the club to recieve a 15 point deduction in 2023 and miss out on Europe making it worse.
Now however, Juventus has clawed back to around about even, this means that whatever money they want to spend they need to earn first. This is mainly done through player sales, recently Juventus has done this by selling Douglas Luiz to Nottingham Forrest.
But this isn’t enough for Juventus and to sign more players they need to sell others. One of these names for sale is the main name for the whole summer, Dusan Vlahovic. But he could be stuck in Turin, as his top suitor, AC Milan has gone in a different direction. Milan have decided to sign Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen on a loan to buy.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, this could stop the signings of Randal Kolo Muani or Edon Zhegrova. This is because Juventus keeping Vlahovic them season and then letting him leave would cost them €38M. This would likely make the signing of Kolo Muani impossible especially with PSG raising their asking price to cover their debts.
However, Edon Zhegrova could still come in for Juventus but only if Nico Gonzalez is sold. So far Juventus is in talks with Spanish side Atletico Madrid. They have offered a Juventus a swap deal for Nahuel Molina to sign Gonzalez, but Juventus only want money. This is because they intend to spend it to sign Zhegrova.
