Crystal Palace planning move for Juventus star

Crystal Palace are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Lloyd Kelly from Juventus, just months after the defender joined the Italian side.
The English centre-back made the switch to Turin from Newcastle United in January, initially on loan.
However, Juventus had already agreed to make the deal permanent if they avoided relegation a condition that was met, triggering a payment of approximately €20 million.
Despite being officially signed only recently, Kelly has struggled to convince the Juventus coaching staff.
His performances have drawn criticism, especially after high-profile mistakes in both domestic and European competitions, including matches against PSV Eindhoven and Parma.
As a result, Juventus are said to be open to offers for the 26-year-old this summer.
Crystal Palace are considering making a formal proposal, potentially offering a fee similar to what Juve spent.
With their FA Cup win securing a place in next season’s Europa League pending UEFA approval due to their ownership links with Lyon Crystal Palace are looking to strengthen key areas.
Reinforcements in defence are a priority, and Kelly, a player with years of Premier League experience, fits their profile.
While Palace have also been linked with Juventus defender Tiago Djalo, Kelly’s background in English football makes him a more familiar and dependable option.
Kelly came through the ranks at Bristol City and later joined Bournemouth, where he became a consistent starter.
He moved to Newcastle in 2024 but was quickly loaned out to Juventus. His time in Italy hasn’t gone as hoped, leading to speculation that the club may cut their losses.
A potential return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace could give Kelly a fresh start and regular playing time, while also helping the Eagles prepare for a busy domestic and European season ahead.
