West Ham have held discussions with Max Allegri to potentially replace Julen Lopetegui as their manager, according to talkSPORT.
The six-time Serie A winner with Juventus would consider taking the job at the London Stadium, but only at the end of the current season.
This scenario would mean that the Hammers’ management are open to appointing an interim manager to lead the team until the season’s conclusion should Lopetegui be sacked. Another name linked with the West Ham job is Graham Potter.
Lopetegui was only appointed this summer, replacing David Moyes in the dugout. However, he has since won just four of his 14 Premier League matches.
Following their midweek loss to Leicester, West Ham sit 14th in the table after securing only one win in their last five games.
Lopetegui’s team could find themselves just three points above the relegation zone before their match against Wolves on Monday.
Meanwhile, Allegri is currently without a club after his second stint at Juventus. A move to the London Stadium would mark his first managerial role outside of Italy.
The 57-year-old had previously revealed in 2019 that he was taking English lessons in anticipation of a potential job in the Premier League.
