Hjulmand wants to leave Sporting to join Juventus
Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand is reportedly forcing his way out of Sporting CP to join Juventus, as the Bianconeri search for midfield reinforcements continues.
The 25-year-old is eager to secure a transfer to the Serie A giants and has asked Sporting to simplify the process.
Juventus are targeting Hjulmand as a top candidate to strengthen their midfield, especially with Douglas Luiz likely to leave the club this summer.
Having previously played for Lecce, Hjulmand is said to be keen on a return to Italy. While his release clause is set at €80 million, reports suggest Sporting are open to offers starting around €50 million.
However, Hjulmand believes that a fee closer to €30 million is more realistic and reflective of current market conditions.
Juventus are ready to meet his salary demands by doubling his current wages from €1.5 million to €3 million per season in order to convince him to make the move to Turin.
With no plans to promote a new midfielder from the academy this summer, Juventus are focused on bringing in experienced talent.
Hjulmand’s maturity, tactical awareness, and leadership qualities have impressed the club’s management, making him a priority target.
Juventus believe the Danish international can step up immediately and contribute to Igor Tudor’s squad.
The club remains hopeful that an agreement with Sporting can be reached, which would see Hjulmand don the black-and-white jersey in the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
As the transfer window heats up, all eyes will be on whether Juventus can close the deal and secure their midfield reinforcement.
