Juventus are aiming to be heavy spenders again in this summer transfer window. This comes after Thiago Motta was heralded as Juventus manager for the future. But he was unable to live up to these expectations and was fired after two horrendous loses to Atalanta and Fiorentina.

He was then replaced by Igor Tudor who initially took over as interim. However, due to Juventus being unable to find and agree terms with a better option the board offered Tudor an extension. Tudor was offered a contract that will run until the end of next season. This gives himself a chance to prove to the board and the rest of the world he is more than an interim.

Then after the season was finished the Juventus board also decided to relieve sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli. While he did some strong buisness bringing in Khepren Thuram and Michele Di Gregorio. However most his business was bad brining in unreliable and players who aren’t to Juventus standard like Douglas Luiz.

He was than replaced by French executive, Damien Comolli who was given one job. Comolli was told to come in and build a team that Igor Tudor can challenge for the Scudetto with. However, to do this he needs to gain capital to spend money and one way to do this is to offload players.

Comolli is taking a different approach to the one of Cristiano Giuntoli which many people believed is flawed. Comolli will sell of deadwood mainly flop signings made by Guntoli. This is included in Nico Gonzalez who could be an option for Inter Milan (read more here) and Douglas Luiz.

Douglas Luiz has received interest on a move back to the Premier league previously with sides such as Everton and West Ham looking to sign Luiz. But these offers aren’t interesting to the Luiz as he like most players would like to play European football. This left Luiz entourage and Juventus at a roadblock with no suitable destinations for Luiz to end up at.

Now Matteo Moretto has provided an alternate solution that fits both parties on X. This would be Douglas Luiz moving to Nottingham Forest on a loan to buy deal. This is comfortable for Luiz as it is a move back to England and it stills allow him to play European football with Forest. Juventus are happy to offload him especially to a team with more capital due to there Europa League qualification.
