Juventus are reportedly closing in on a summer move for Hellas Verona’s promising centre-back, Diego Coppola. The 21-year-old, who has been on the radar of Juventus’ sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli for some time, could be the next addition to the Turin-based club’s defensive lineup.
According to reports from L’Arena (via TMW), Juventus have already initiated steps to secure Coppola’s signature, with discussions between the two clubs expected to progress smoothly. Verona and Juventus share a solid working relationship, as evidenced by Juan Cabal’s transfer to the Bianconeri last summer.
Coppola, who is under contract with Verona until 2027, is currently valued at approximately €10 million, though a potential deal could see Juventus pay around €12 million for his services.
The young defender has drawn interest from other top clubs, including Inter Milan, thanks to his strong performances in Serie A.
A product of Verona’s youth academy, Coppola made his senior debut in 2022 and has since established himself as a key figure in the team’s backline.
Known for his physical strength, aerial dominance, and defensive awareness, he has also gained recognition at the international level, having featured for Italy’s Under-21 side. With national team coach Luciano Spalletti keeping an eye on emerging talent, Coppola’s rise could soon see him earn a senior call-up.
This past weekend, Juventus secured a 2-0 victory over Verona in Serie A, a match viewed as an opportunity to evaluate Coppola firsthand. With Juventus eager to reinforce their defense, the young Italian’s future could soon be at the Allianz Stadium.
