Juventus’ plans to strengthen their attack ahead of next season may face an unexpected obstacle, as Napoli and Roma move closer to completing a swap deal involving Lorenzo Lucca and Artem Dovbyk.
The Bianconeri have been monitoring both forwards as part of their search for a new striker, a priority that has intensified following the uncertain future of Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian forward is currently sidelined with injury and is widely expected to leave Juventus at the end of the season, potentially having already played his final match for the club.

Juventus’ need for reinforcements has also been influenced by earlier frustrations surrounding Jonathan David. While the Canadian striker has shown clear improvement in recent weeks, the club’s management remains keen on adding another reliable goal scorer to their ranks.
Artem Dovbyk had emerged as a realistic target, with Roma previously open to considering his sale. At the same time, Napoli were open to discussing Lorenzo Lucca’s future, particularly with Romelu Lukaku expected to return from a long-term injury. Lucca is currently on loan at Napoli, but the agreement includes an obligation to make the transfer permanent.
Both players fit the profile Juventus were actively assessing as they explored options to reshape their forward line.
However, the situation has now taken a different turn, Roma and Napoli are in advanced discussions over a direct swap deal that would see Lucca move to the capital while Dovbyk heads to Naples.

If completed, the deal would effectively remove two of Juventus’ main striker targets from the market. As a result, the club may be forced to reassess its transfer strategy and identify alternative options as it prepares for the upcoming campaign.
While Juventus’ need for attacking reinforcements remains clear, the evolving situation between Roma and Napoli highlights the competitive and unpredictable nature of the transfer market—one that could yet prompt further changes to the Bianconeri’s plans.
