Dusan Vlahovic’s injury and his new back-up.

Dusan Vlahovic has been forced to play almost every minute of the season for Juventus. This is due to him not having a back-up because of Arek Milik’s injury and Moise Kean being sold to Fiorentina in January. Heavy minutes are the reason for Vlahovic facing an injury.

Vlahovic picked it up while playing in the nations league for Serabia against Denmark. He came off in the 88th minute while holding his hamstring. Vlahovic was taken off the pitch and has gone back to J-Medical for further test.

It was originally thought to be very serious that he would be out for seven months. This turned out to be untrue very quickly. It is a short-term injury and at a guess it is probably a light tear or a stress fracture. He will likely miss both the AC Milan and Aston Villa games.

Dusan injury will leave a hole in the attack and proves a backup is an urgent need. Juventus were originally looking at Jonathan David from Lille. This was because his contract expires at the end of the season so he could be signed cheap.

Now David and his agent have stated that he would like to finish the year on Lille. This is because if he leaves for free clubs will give him a higher salary. David would like around eight million euros per season which is too much for someone who would be a backup for Juventus.

Giuntoli has now had to change his target to Patrick Schick of Bayer Leverkusen. Schick is looking for a way out of the reining German champions due to a lack of game time. He has only started two games this season after Victor Boniface busted on to the scene last season.

So far this season he has only played in eight of Leverkusen’s ten league matches. Of those 8 games he has only started two. Schick wants to play more minutes as he looks to shift from Leverkusen and Juventus could become his new home.

Giuntoli would have to cough up around twenty million euros to make the deal possible. However, Schick has had injury concerns in the past. This has shown since the end of the 21/22 season with him having four injuries in that time which saw him sidelined for a total of 358 days in just over two years.
