During the recent summer transfer window, Juventus secured the services of goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio on a one-year loan from Monza, with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
This move came after Di Gregorio reportedly turned down an offer from Premier League leaders Liverpool, as confirmed by his agent, Carlo Alberto Belloni.
Liverpool, under the new management of Arne Slot, made limited signings during the transfer window.
Federico Chiesa was their primary acquisition, while they also signed goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who was immediately loaned back to Valencia.

Belloni revealed that Liverpool had approached Di Gregorio, but the goalkeeper opted to remain in Italy and join Juventus.
The Italian goalkeeper joined Juventus on a one-year loan deal from Monza, with an obligation to buy at the end of the season for a fee reported to be around €40 million.
When asked about the English interest, Belloni remarked, “Surely Manchester City fans will remember his saves for a long time. However, in the summer, we decided against Liverpool to embrace the Juventus project.”
Di Gregorio’s decision reflects his commitment to his development within Serie A and his desire to contribute to Juventus’s resurgence.
“I’m truly happy that Michele has showcased his exceptional abilities on the international stage as well,” Belloni expressed pride in Di Gregorio’s progress.
“Certain matches are unforgettable, and his performance against Manchester City will be remembered for a long time.
“When I recall his journey from Serie C, I am filled with emotion. He has achieved everything through his talent and unwavering dedication. I am incredibly proud of him.”
Di Gregorio’s arrival strengthens Juventus’s goalkeeping department, providing them with a talented and experienced player who has demonstrated his ability to perform on the biggest stages.
