Juventus coach Igor Tudor believes that defender Andrea Cambiaso has the quality to play for some of the biggest clubs in the world, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Manchester City.

Speaking in his press conference on Friday, Tudor praised the Italian international but also said he must become more consistent:

“He’s a top-level player. He needs to be more consistent in his performances, and he has to work and grow.

It depends on him. Potentially, he’s good enough for the best clubs in the world. But he must prove every week that he is the best. If he does that, he can soon play at Liverpool, Real Madrid, or Manchester City.”

Cambiaso, 25, was linked with Manchester City last January but stayed at Juventus. This season, however, he has only played twice in Serie A. He was sent off on the opening weekend for violent conduct, which led to a two-game suspension.

Tudor still believes in his versatility, explaining that Cambiaso can even play in midfield roles:
“He can play as a mezzala (box-to-box midfielder).

He has a special way of thinking. As a full-back, he already sees things like a midfielder. Sometimes he moves inside and feels those positions well. I give players freedom to adapt on the pitch according to their qualities.”

Tudor underlined that Cambiaso’s future depends on his own effort and focus. With talent and hard work, he could soon find himself wearing the shirt of one of Europe’s elite clubs.

The Juventus boss also added that Francisco Conceição might miss the upcoming match against Atalanta due to minor fitness issues.
