There is already excitement surrounding Arthur at Girona. According to Ilbianconero, the Brazilian midfielder, who joined the Catalan club on loan from Juventus during the final days of the winter transfer window, has been welcomed with great enthusiasm in Spain, with videos and social media content celebrating his arrival.
In a particularly eye-catching moment, the 1996-born player was filmed juggling a football on the pitch at Montilivi Stadium alongside an unusual companion a dog dressed in Girona’s red and white colors.
The dog, a sort of unofficial team mascot alongside the club’s official mascot, Sisa the fly, is a regular presence in Girona’s activities and even has its own social media profiles.
“I’m not trying to win over the coach, but even before coming here, I was already following Girona’s matches because they play the kind of football I like focused on ball possession.
That was important right from my first conversation with the club. I admire Girona’s ambition and dream of helping them return to the Champions League.
Although I had other options in the transfer market, I made a financial sacrifice to fit within Girona’s budget. I don’t rule out staying beyond my loan spell. Right now, I need to regain match fitness, but I think I can play a few minutes as early as this weekend.”
Arthur’s arrival has already made an impact, and Girona fans are eager to see how he contributes to the team’s ambitions this season.
