Fiorentina and Arthur Melo officially part ways after the Viola opted not to activate their €20 million purchase option on the loan deal from Juventus.

Arthur took to social media to express his gratitude: “Thank you for everything, Viola family!” However, his future remains uncertain with a return to Juventus appearing far from ideal.

Arthur’s high wages and negative impact on Juventus’ finances make him a major obstacle for the Bianconeri in the transfer market.

An outright sale seems unlikely, with another expensive loan deal more probable.

Arthur’s season at Fiorentina was described as “decent” but not outstanding. He failed to make the desired impact and did not attract the attention of top clubs as anticipated.

In his 48 appearances for the Viola (2,884 minutes played), Arthur scored 2 goals and provided 4 assists. These numbers fall short of expectations.

Arthur’s future now rests with Juventus. The Bianconeri will have to find a solution for the Brazilian midfielder, who might not be part of Thiago Motta’s plans.
