A surprise transfer twist is making headlines in Spain, as reports emerge that Barcelona and Juventus are exploring a blockbuster player exchange involving two rising stars: Kenan Yildiz and Ronald Araújo.
According to Spanish journalist Albert Fernández, Barcelona have rekindled their interest in Kenan Yildiz, the highly rated 20-year-old Turkish forward who made headlines with a stunning performance at the Club World Cup, where he registered five goal contributions in just four games.
His talent did not go unnoticed, and top clubs across Europe are reportedly monitoring him closely.
Barcelona’s admiration for Yildiz dates back to 2022, when the Catalan giants nearly signed him from Bayern Munich, only to lose out to Juventus.
Now, three years later, the Blaugrana are considering making another move but this time, they know Juventus will demand a hefty fee.
To reduce the financial burden, the Spanish side is reportedly floating the idea of a direct swap, offering Uruguayan defender Ronald Araújo in exchange. Juventus are long-time admirers of Araújo and even made an approach for him during the January transfer window.
“Kenan Yildiz is already a very expensive player, especially after his Club World Cup display,” Fernández shared on social media.
“Barça almost signed him before, but Juve got him in 2022. Now he’s a young star and hard to buy but Juve really like Araújo.”
While no official offer has been made yet, insiders suggest discussions could accelerate if both clubs believe a deal would serve their current squad needs.
Barcelona are looking to inject fresh attacking talent, while Juventus aim to solidify their backline.
This potential trade, though still in its early stages, could become one of the most talked-about deals of the summer if it progresses.
