Juventus’ summer transfer plan is taking shape with a clear guiding principle: sell before buying.

The club’s management recognizes that in order to pursue new targets, several departures will be necessary — and multiple names are already on the list.

So far, the Bianconeri have completed three signings — Jonathan David, Francisco Conceição, and João Mário — along with three departures — Mbangula, Alberto Costa, and Timothy Weah.

However, significant work remains to be done on both incoming and outgoing fronts. The transfer market rarely offers straightforward negotiations, and at Juventus, multiple discussions are ongoing across several tables.

The first names earmarked for potential exits include Douglas Luiz, Dušan Vlahović, and Nico González.

The Brazilian midfielder’s relationship with the club appears broken, his absence on the first day of pre-season symbolic of a disappointing spell in Turin.

While interest from the Premier League persists — with Nottingham Forest reportedly leading the chase — no club has yet met Juventus’ financial demands.

Vlahović’s future is also uncertain. His high salary remains a stumbling block in any potential transfer. Despite training with the squad during the camp in Germany, he remains on the fringes of the project.

AC Milan, once considered a strong contender for his signature, have shifted their focus to Rasmus Højlund, leaving Juventus waiting for other offers.

As for Nico González, the Argentine winger failed to impress in his first season with the club and is no longer considered indispensable.

Inter Milan have withdrawn their interest, and approaches from Saudi Arabia have yet to turn into concrete bids.

Miretti, Kostić and Rugani: Decisions Ahead

Napoli are pursuing midfielder Fabio Miretti, with sporting director Giovanni Manna — who knows the player well — pushing for a deal. However, Juventus have rejected Napoli’s €14 million offer, and negotiations are ongoing.

Filip Kostić and Daniele Rugani have returned from loan spells and featured in the Club World Cup. The Serbian winger struggled to make an impact, while Rugani impressed with his composure and defensive reliability.

Both are available for the right offer, but Rugani could remain as an experienced squad option, whereas Kostić appears further down the pecking order.

Arthur, Tiago Djaló and Others Out of the Project

Several players remain outside Juventus’ long-term plans but continue to train in Germany. Arthur Melo and Tiago Djaló are low in the hierarchy, awaiting future solutions.

Facundo González stayed behind due to injury concerns, while Arkadiusz Milik remains in Turin recovering from an injury sustained shortly before the squad’s departure.

With the window still open, Juventus face a decisive period in which outgoings will dictate the scale and nature of their reinforcements. For the Bianconeri, the next few weeks will determine whether their market vision can be fully realised.
