Chelsea defender linked with Juventus

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi, signed for €45 million from AS Monaco in August 2023, has been linked with a potential January move to Juventus and a prominent German club, as reported by RMC Sport. With competition for central defensive positions fierce at Stamford Bridge, Disasi’s future appears uncertain despite his quality and experience.

Disasi has seen limited minutes on the pitch, even with injuries sidelining key defenders Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana. Manager Enzo Maresca has often preferred Tosin Adarabioyo and Levi Colwill in central defense, leaving Disasi to settle for a backup role.

While he remains a fifth-choice defender for the Blues, Chelsea’s depth in this position  bolstered by emerging talents from the academy and players out on loan  may make Disasi surplus to requirements.

Juventus, known for investing in solid defenders like Gleison Bremer (€47 million in 2022), could be an ideal destination. However, whether they would match Chelsea’s valuation for the 26-year-old remains uncertain.

Chelsea is reportedly seeking a fee close to what they paid for Disasi, but speculation suggests they might settle for around €30 million.

If an agreement cannot be reached, Disasi might remain at Stamford Bridge, contributing as a squad player. However, his long-term prospects hinge on Chelsea’s willingness to negotiate a lower price and the level of interest from top-tier clubs like Juventus and others in Germany.

With the January transfer window approaching, Chelsea fans can expect further updates on this potential move as negotiations progress.
