Juventus focuses on contract renewals of key players

With Danilo’s unexpected departure, Juventus no longer has any players whose contracts will expire in June 2025. The club had worked diligently in previous months to resolve the contractual situations of players set to leave at the end of the current season.

However, this does not mean that the topic of contract renewals is any less urgent. On the contrary, after the closure of the January transfer window, Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is set to shift his focus to securing important contract extensions for several key players.

Among the most crucial players with expiring contracts is Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker’s future at Juventus remains uncertain, and his stay at the club is far from guaranteed. In fact, as of now, his departure seems to be a more likely scenario than a continued stay.

In addition to Vlahovic,Weston McKennie’s contract also expires in a year and a half. The American midfielder extended his contract by one year last summer, but Juventus is determined to act proactively this time, so as not to find themselves in the same situation as last summer. McKennie has earned the club’s trust with his solid performances, and therefore, Juventus is preparing to offer him a renewal.

According to Ilbianconero, another player in the spotlight is Federico Gatti. The defender, whose contract runs until 2028, is in the final stages of a renewal agreement with Juventus.

The club and Gatti have reached a verbal understanding in recent months, and now it’s time to put that agreement in writing. The deal will likely see Gatti extend his stay at the club for at least another season, with an adjustment to his salary, which currently stands at around 1.5 million euros annually.

While the focus on Vlahovic, McKennie, and Gatti is clear, Juventus is also preparing to look forward with Kenan Yildiz. The Turkish prodigy, born in 2005, renewed his contract only a few months ago, last summer, but Juventus has already indicated that they plan to make further adjustments to his deal.

This is part of the club’s strategy to ensure that they are always in a strong position, particularly in the event of significant offers from other clubs.

Yildiz is currently under contract until 2029, and a revised agreement would help to quell any rumors regarding his potential departure, making it clear that the player’s future is firmly tied to Juventus. If no such agreement is reached, however, the rumors surrounding his potential move to other top clubs could intensify, putting more pressure on Juventus to act decisively.

Juventus’ decision to prioritize these renewals is a reflection of their broader strategy for the future. While the club continues to monitor the transfer market for potential signings, securing the futures of these key players will ensure stability in the squad for the coming seasons.

The renewals also align with Juventus’ broader ambition to maintain a competitive edge in both Serie A and European competitions. Cristiano Giuntoli, who took over as sporting director, has already demonstrated a clear focus on securing top talent for the club, but he now faces the equally important task of locking down these players’ long-term commitments.

Ensuring the future of McKennie, Gatti, Yildiz, and Vlahovic if possiblewill be crucial as Juventus looks to build a stronger, more cohesive team for the years ahead.

With Juventus navigating the complexities of their contracts and the transfer market, the coming months will be critical in shaping the direction of the team.

These renewal discussions are just the beginning, and they could play a key role in the club’s ability to strengthen further, as they look to retain and develop their top talents while staying competitive in both domestic and international competitions.

In the meantime, Juventus fans will be eagerly awaiting confirmation of these contract renewals, as the club looks to secure its key players and make the necessary adjustments to continue building on its legacy.
