Newly appointed Juventus General Director Damien Comolli is reportedly keen on bringing Guillaume Restes, Toulouse’s rising goalkeeper, to Turin as part of the club’s plans to reinforce its goalkeeping department.

Comolli, 52, has a rich background in football administration with past roles at Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool.

Most recently, he spent five years as president of Toulouse, where he played a central role in the development of Restes, who is now regarded as one of France’s most promising young shot-stoppers.

Born in Toulouse, Guillaume Restes rose through the youth ranks of his hometown club and was promoted to the first team in 2023.

During the 2024/25 season, the 19-year-old became the club’s starting goalkeeper, making 31 appearances across all competitions, recording 10 clean sheets, and conceding 39 goals.

His standout performances have attracted attention across Europe, and with Comolli now overseeing Juventus operations, a reunion could be on the cards.

Juventus is actively looking for a new goalkeeper as Mattia Perin prepares to leave the club this summer.

Perin, who joined Juve in 2018, has mainly served as a backup to Wojciech Szczesny and now to Michele Di Gregorio, and is believed to be eyeing new challenges with Milan, Bologna, or Como as potential destinations.

Comolli has put Restes on his shortlist of potential replacements, alongside other options such as Elia Caprile, who is set to join Cagliari permanently, Lazio’s Ivan Provedel, and Lecce’s Wladimiro Falcone.

Restes’ age, potential, and prior connection with Comolli make him an ideal long-term project for Juventus, especially as the club aims to refresh its squad and plan for the future.

Bringing in a young talent with Ligue 1 experience would be in line with Juve’s renewed approach of combining youth with experience under the guidance of a sporting director who already believes in his talent.
