Juventus Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli has put to rest any doubts about the future of Francisco Conceição at the club, confirming that the Portuguese winger will be a permanent fixture at the Allianz Stadium.
When questioned about the ongoing efforts to keep Conceição in Turin, Giuntoli was unequivocal: “The relationships with the boy and his agent are excellent, so we absolutely want him to stay with us, and I believe it’s also his will.”
When pressed about the likelihood of Conceição remaining with Juventus beyond his current loan spell, Giuntoli responded with confidence, “100%.”
Francisco Conceição, the 21-year-old Portuguese talent, joined Juventus on a loan deal from FC Porto this past summer. The transfer was structured as a dry loan, where Juventus paid €7 million with no initial obligation or option to buy.
However, the agreement was underpinned by a gentlemen’s agreement between the clubs, hinting at future negotiations for a permanent deal.
Since his arrival, Conceição has quickly become a fan favorite and a key part of Thiago Motta’s tactical setup. His contributions have been significant as the winger has most assists than any other Juventus player in the league.
In addition, the winger displays his dribbling ability, pace, and knack for scoring crucial goals. In the current season, he has made his mark with several goal contributions, including a memorable performance against RB Leipzig.
The transfer talks have been progressing smoothly, with Juventus keen on activating Conceição’s release clause set at €30 million by Porto. This clause becomes active in June 2025, but Juventus aims to secure the deal before then.
Giuntoli’s recent comments suggest an imminent move to finalize Conceição’s permanent transfer, potentially even before the summer transfer window opens.
The Juventus director’s relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes, who represents Conceição, has been pivotal in these negotiations.
There has been a mutual understanding from the outset that Conceição’s future was envisioned in Turin, and this latest update from Giuntoli only cements that vision.
