Both Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur will leave Turin to play in London, as the pair join Tottenham Hotspur. Find all details and background about the deals down below.

Juventus and Tottenham Hotspurs were in direct contact for the transfer of Dejan Kulusevski since last December. The sporting director of Tottenham Fabio Paratici, who previously served Juventus for 11 years, is a huge admirer of the Swede and also brought him to Juventus in the winter mercato of the 2019-2020 season in a deal around 40-45 million euros that was paid to Atalanta. He then stayed the rest of the season at Parma on loan where he displayed his quality and impressed the fans. He also scored a goal on his debut for Juventus in the season opener against Sampdoria. Since then he struggled to fit in the Juventus system, although he scored some important goals for Juventus against Milan in Serie A and the final of the Coppa Italia against Atalanta where he showed his true potential by scoring and assisting a goal.

Then Massimiliano Allegri came back as a Juventus coach and Kulusevski was constantly unable to fit into his style of his play. This season he scored 2 goals and assisted 3 times for Juventus. These numbers are the proof of the fact that he is unable to reach his full potential at Juventus.

Tottenham, who wanted a right winger and has already failed in concluding the likes of Adama Traore from Wolves, approached Juventus for the Swede and the player showed his desire to leave the club to fulfil his potential.

Antonio Conte

Throughout his Juventus career Kulusevski played 74 times scoring 9 goals and assisting 10. His move to Tottenham could be a huge boost in his career as Tottenham manager – the former Juventus and Inter man – Antonio Conte likes the characteristics of the Swedish International.

The deal between Juventus and Tottenham has already been completed the player also accepted to join Tottenham. The deal was completed  around 40 million plus add ons – including loan fee of 5 million and buy clause that will become mandatory in case of UCL qualification/ certain number of appearances.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Accompanying his fellow Juve mate Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur is also on his way to Tottenham to play in the Premier League. Rodrigo Bentancur was being followed by many clubs around Europe. Recently Aston Villa was leading in taking signatures of the Uruguayan. Villa Manager Steven Gerrad has a lot of appreciation for Bentancur, but they failed to satisfy the needs of Juventus. Tottenham in the last 2 days have overtaken the likes of every team and agreed personal terms with Rodrigo Bentancur.

The deal is completed according to many sources and Juventus and Tottenham agreed on 19 million+ 6 million add ons for Bentancur. The Uruguayan will sign the contract until 2026 on an annual salary of 3 million. Out of these transfer fee 30% will go to Boca Juniors as they added a clause in the contract of Bentancur.

Rodrigo Bentancur was named as the next “Andrea Pirlo” by many because of his techniques and potential but failed to satisfy his potential. His 2019-2020 season was the most successful season he had in a Juventus jersey. He totally played 181 games and scored in 3 occassions while assisting 18 times. We wish Rodrigo Bentancur best for his future and thanking him for showing 110% dedication for the club.

Grazie Rodrigo!!!!
