Douglas Luiz breaks social silence amid rising Nottingham Forest interest
The future of Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz is under intense scrutiny as Juventus prepare for his departure.
With growing Premier League interest—led by Nottingham Forest—the 27-year-old’s cryptic social media activity has further stoked speculation.
Luiz recently issued an apology to Juventus players, staff, and management after arriving late for preseason training, a delay confirmed by director general Damien Comolli.

Though now back in training at Continassa with the rest of the squad, his role under manager Igor Tudor appears increasingly marginal.
Social Media Sparks Speculation
On Instagram, Luiz posted a message in Portuguese that read, “Good morning. May God forgive bad people.” The timing of the post—shortly after his return to training alongside Arek Milik—raised questions.

While he appeared fully reintegrated on the pitch, the post’s ambiguous tone left room for interpretation. Some viewed it as a dig at figures inside the club, while others saw it as a broader reflection of off-field tensions.
Premier League Clubs Circle
Nottingham Forest have emerged as frontrunners in the race for Luiz’s signature after the player reportedly put negotiations with Everton on hold in anticipation of better offers.
Forest have made direct contact with both Juventus and the player’s representatives, signaling serious intent to finalize a deal before the transfer window closes.
Talks are focused on a loan deal with an option to buy, which could become an obligation if certain performance-related clauses are met.
Juventus are reportedly open to this format, provided the conditions offer enough security to justify Luiz’s departure.
Officially Out of Juventus Plans
Luiz has been declared surplus to requirements for the 2025–26 campaign. Despite featuring in 19 Serie A matches last season, his total minutes fell short of 520, reflecting his diminished role under Tudor.
While tensions stemming from his late return have eased following his apology, the club’s stance remains unchanged: Luiz is encouraged to find a new destination, and Juventus are actively facilitating his exit.
