The relationship between Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic and the club’s passionate supporters, particularly those in the Curva Sud, has experienced both tension and reconciliation.
Following a 2-2 draw against Venezia on December 14, 2024, Juventus players faced jeers from their fans, frustrated by the team’s fourth consecutive Serie A stalemate.
Vlahovic, who had scored a late equalizer via penalty, became a focal point of the crowd’s discontent. In response to the criticism, he engaged in a heated exchange with ultras, expressing his frustration through gestures and words.
In an effort to mend the strained relationship, Vlahovic took to social media, stating: “I understand the frustration for the latest results, and you have all the rights to express it.
“I’ve always respected you by giving my all for the shirt, and I thank you for the support you support us daily. Now it’s important to stick together to support the team and start again, united.”
The reconciliation process gained momentum when Juventus ultras displayed a banner outside the Allianz Stadium before the Coppa Italia match against Cagliari on December 17, 2024.
The banner read: “An isolated gesture does not cancel out the past, you have always been respected by us. Juventus, DV9 and ultras united to the end.”
Vlahovic acknowledged this gesture by sharing an image of the banner on his social media, adding: “Thank you to all the fans for the support.”
The positive atmosphere was evident during the Coppa Italia match, where Vlahovic opened the scoring in a 4-0 victory over Cagliari.
The fans’ cheers marked a significant shift from the previous jeers, signaling a restored unity between the player and the supporters.
Dusan Vlahovic expressed his happiness post-match, stating: “The applause of the fans makes me very happy… Now we have to continue like this, all united.”
