The transfer situation surrounding Dusan Vlahovic is taking a new turn, with the Serbian striker now potentially set to remain at Juventus despite being considered outside the club’s plans.

In Sunday’s friendly against Borussia Dortmund, Vlahovic featured for less than 30 minutes, closing Juventus’ pre-season camp in Herzogenaurach. Notably, there were no celebratory posts, photos, or stories with his iconic No. 9 shirt.

A wayward right-footed attempt in the match sparked debate among fans on social media, with many interpreting it as a symbolic moment — perhaps the final chapter of a story with Juventus that never truly took off.

Vlahovic’s stance is clear: “I’ll stay until the end of my contract”. He is prepared to risk spending much of the season on the bench or even in the stands.

The striker has already turned down offers from José Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe and various approaches from Saudi Arabia, none of which he considered fitting his ambitions or stature.

Juventus, however, have made their view equally clear: “You’re no longer part of the project” was the message relayed to his representatives.

The main obstacle to any transfer remains financial — Vlahovic stands to earn €12 million net if he stays in Turin next season, a figure few suitors, including AC Milan, can match.

The situation is now at an impasse. What began as a romance between player and club, with Vlahovic receiving an unconditional welcome from fans on his arrival at JMedical, risks turning into a deep fracture.

For the supporters who once embraced him wholeheartedly, the coming months could determine whether the bond can be salvaged — or if this is truly the beginning of the end.
