Dusan Vlahovic clashes with Juventus fans after controversial celebration

Juventus’ striker Dusan Vlahovic finds himself at odds with the Curva after a heated exchange following a 2-2 draw with Venezia.

Juventus’ 10th draw in 16 Serie A matches this season has perhaps been the most frustrating yet. The team, winless since their last victory in the derby on 9 November, was expected to secure a win against bottom-placed Venezia but, once again, only managed a draw in front of their home fans.

The match ended with a dramatic equalizer in the 95th minute, when Dusan Vlahovic converted a penalty kick after a handball by Venezia’s Candela. However, the aftermath of this goal was anything but celebratory.

The match was played in an atmosphere charged by recent poor results. Throughout the game, sections of the Juventus support were heard chanting for the players to show more fight.

These chants seemed to irk Vlahovic, leading to a confrontation post-match.

After scoring the equalizing penalty, Vlahovic celebrated in a manner that was clearly aimed at the fans. His celebration was not just about the goal but seemed to respond to the jeers and chants that had been echoing from the stands.

As he returned to the centre of the pitch, he was seen shouting towards the Curva, a response to the ongoing tension.

After the final whistle, the Juventus players went to acknowledge their fans under the Curva, but the reception was far from warm. Loud boos and chants erupted, directed particularly at Vlahovic, who responded with gestures, further escalating the situation.

Insults were directed at the Serbian forward, prompting his teammates to intervene and calm him down.

After this tense moment, Vlahovic began to make his way back to the dressing room. As a fresh wave of chants against him started, he gave an ironic thumbs up, a gesture that added another layer to the ongoing saga between the player and the fans.

Juventus will look to mend this rift when they take on Cagliari in the Coppa Italia on 17 December, with hopes that both performance and team spirit will see an improvement.
