Evaluating Juventus’s merecato. Has Juventus lost their values?

Juventus had an extremely important mereacto as they looked to bring in reinforcements to help a push for top four, but I think Juventus and mainly Cristiano Giuntoli. Firstly, a centre back was the key move since the start of October, and he knew Juventus would need a centre back.

Still, it took Giuntoli nearly the whole window to bring in a centre back, and this was a key issue as Juventus had major league games in the January period. Playing AC Milan, Napoli, Atalanta and Torino in the derby della mole.

But instead of having another option Juventus had to make Pierre Kalulu and Federico Gatti. Then Giuntoli decides to pay 17 million in total to bring in Llyod Kelly who struggles to get game for Newcastle.

Giuntoli decided to fund this move by selling Nicolo Fagioli to Fiorentina for 20 million to fund this transfer. How is one of Juventus best midfielders and someone who understands the Juventus values because he’s been a fan all of his life.

The sale of Fagioli will see our midfield be weakened while players such as Douglas Luiz and Teun Koopmeiners who don’t care what jersey they wear ruin our midfield week in and week out, and we bought them for a hell of a lot more than we sold Nico for.

And if they weren’t bought in Juventus could have kept Dean Huijsen, who was sold to Bournemouth instead of buying Llyod Kelly for virtually the same price. And Huijsen isn’t someone isn’t struggling for the minutes instead he has been one of the best centre backs in the Premier League.

And there was a way where Fagioli could have been kept if Alberto Costa wasn’t bought at the start of the window. Not that its bad business but he hasn’t played once and isn’t needed. That money could have been put into a centre back and Fagioli could have been kept.

Renato Veiga was okay business, but I dislike the fact that it is a dry loan, but the same goes for Randal Kolo Muani which looks to be great business. Kolo Muani has started two league games and scored three goals, and now there is talks for him to be signed permeant deal.
