After a brief rest period to recover from the disappointment of their early Champions League exit, Juventus returned to training at Continassa on Friday. The team is now focused on their crucial upcoming match against Cagliari, scheduled for Sunday night at 20:45.
According to Ilbianconero, Juventus head coach Thiago Motta held an important meeting with his squad to address the aftermath of their painful elimination in Eindhoven.
Acknowledging that there is no time to dwell on past setbacks, Motta emphasized the need to shift focus toward the remaining objectives of the 2024/25 season.
Securing a top-four Serie A finish and competing for the Coppa Italia remain within reach, making it imperative for the team to move forward with determination.
Motta addressed the players directly, urging them to remain united and committed during the final stretch of the season. With 13 league matches left, Juventus still controls its fate in the battle for fourth place.
Furthermore, with Atalanta just five points ahead and a crucial head-to-head clash set for March 9 in Turin, Juventus could even set its sights on securing third place.
The Juventus manager also revisited the mistakes made during their Champions League campaign, particularly in the match against PSV Eindhoven.
Players, in turn, expressed their willingness to follow Motta’s lead but also requested greater empathy from the coach. The need for a harmonious environment has been highlighted, especially following recent incidents such as the disagreement with Dusan Vlahovic in Saudi Arabia and the captaincy issue involving Federico Gatti.
Now, the priority is to put past disputes behind and focus on ensuring Juventus qualifies for the 2025/26 Champions League. With key objectives still within reach, the team aims to finish the season on a strong note and maintain their place among Europe’s elite clubs.
