Federico Chiesa officially joins Liverpool

Federico Chiesa has officially joined Liverpool, marking the end of his tenure at Juventus. Chiesa leaves the Bianconeri after playing 131 official matches, scoring 32 goals, and providing 23 assists.

During his time with the club, he won two Coppa Italia titles and a Supercoppa Italiana.

Transfer Details

Chiesa’s departure comes as Juventus looks to avoid losing him for free next summer, given that he was not part of coach Thiago Motta’s plans.

The 1997-born forward was transferred to Liverpool in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool FC confirmed the transfer with a message on social media, welcoming Chiesa to Anfield:

“We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with Juventus for the transfer of Federico Chiesa, subject to international clearance. #BenvenutoFederico”

Financial Terms of the Deal

Juventus released an official statement revealing the details of the transfer:

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that it has reached an agreement with Liverpool FC for the permanent transfer of the sporting rights of Federico Chiesa for a fee of €12 million, payable over four years, with additional performance-related bonuses of up to €3 million.

This operation will result in a negative economic impact of €3 million on the financial statements for the 2023/2024 fiscal year, due to the adjustment of the net book value of the player’s sporting rights.”

Chiesa’s move to Liverpool brings an end to a chapter at Juventus, as he embarks on a new journey in the Premier League.
