Juventus technical director François Modesto has reaffirmed the club’s unwavering pursuit of success, echoing defender Gleison Bremer’s ambition to challenge for the Scudetto in the upcoming season.

Speaking during the team’s preseason training camp in Herzogenaurach, Modesto’s remarks reflected the renewed optimism within the club as it charts its roadmap for the year ahead.

Bremer, a key figure in Juventus’ defense, has long expressed his commitment to restoring the club to the summit of Italian football.

When asked about Juventus’ transfer activity, specifically whether the three new signings would be enough to mount a serious challenge, Bremer replied with measured confidence. “Yes, depending on who we bring in. We’re already a strong team. If top players arrive, we can compete with the best.”

Looking ahead to the Serie A title race, Bremer identified the usual powerhouses as the main contenders.

“Napoli are favorites after winning the last Scudetto and strengthening the squad. Inter remain very good,” he said. “Then there’s Milan, who have Allegri and are focused only on the league. And of course, there’s Juventus.”

Modesto wholeheartedly supported Bremer’s mindset during his recent media engagement. He emphasized the importance of adopting a winning mentality from the very start of the season, stating, “Juventus must always go on the pitch to win—every match, every competition.”

Juventus last won the Serie A title in the 2019–20 season under coach Maurizio Sarri, securing their ninth consecutive Scudetto. The following season, 2020–21, saw Andrea Pirlo take charge, but Juventus finished fourth, ending their streak of league titles.

In the 2021–22 season, Massimiliano Allegri returned as coach, leading the team to a fourth-place finish in Serie A. The 2022–23 season was particularly challenging, as off-field issues and point deductions saw the team finish seventh, missing out on European competitions for the first time in over a decade.

Juventus bounced back in the 2023–24 season, finishing third in Serie A and winning the Coppa Italia with a 1–0 victory over Atalanta on May 15, 2024, marking the club’s record-extending 15th triumph in the competition.

The 2024–25 season was one of transition, with Thiago Motta replaced mid-season; Juventus finished fourth in the league, reached the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, but fell short in both the Champions League playoff round and the FIFA Club World Cup round of 16.
