AC Milan stall on Vlahovic deal amid salary concerns and transfer risk
The future of Dusan Vlahovic remains uncertain at Juventus. With just one year left on his contract and no official offers submitted, AC Milan have shown interest in the Serbian striker but financial concerns are holding them back.
While Jonathan David is working closely with coach Igor Tudor to become the new focal point of Juventus’ attack, Vlahovic’s time in Turin appears to be nearing an end.
The striker is set to earn a staggering €12 million salary this season, a figure Milan are unwilling to match.
Milan could afford to pay Vlahovic no more than €6 million net per season, with total yearly costs rising to about €13–14 million including amortization.
That figure presents a challenge, especially after Milan recently invested over €30 million in Santiago Gimenez, who is expected to lead their attack.
Adding Vlahovic could create competition for places and financial strain, making it a risky operation for Milan unless they move quickly and decisively.
From Juventus’ perspective, offloading Vlahovic is a priority. Keeping him would cost the club nearly €42 million in the 2025–26 season broken down into €19.5 million in amortization and €22 million gross salary. That’s a heavy burden for a player who may no longer fit Tudor’s tactical plans.
To avoid a financial loss, Juventus need to sell Vlahovic for at least €19.5 million, although they may accept slightly less to close the deal with Milan — especially if no other club steps in.
This negotiation is a major test for Igli Tare and Damien Comolli, who are both new to their respective roles.
Selling Vlahovic to a direct rival like Milan could disrupt Juventus’ season balance, but keeping him risks a huge financial strain.
The clock is ticking, and both clubs must weigh their next move carefully.
