Jonathan David, a new summer signing, opened the scoring with a clever finish, putting his new club on the path to victory. Later, Dusan Vlahovic came off the bench to seal the win with a second goal, shortly after Andrea Cambiaso was shown a red card.

This win was a satisfactory start for Juventus, a club that faced significant turmoil last season. Under Tudor, who took over as interim boss and has since been given a longer contract, Juventus have stabilized.

They finished fourth in the league last term and reached the last 16 of the Club World Cup. The victory over Parma was the 150th of Tudor’s managerial career.

Historically, Juventus has a strong record against their upcoming opponents, Genoa, losing only once in their last ten league meetings. Last season, Juventus secured a 3-0 victory over Genoa, with Dusan Vlahovic scoring two goals.

Genoa, managed by former Juventus midfielder Patrick Vieira, finished in the middle of the table last season and have begun their new campaign with an unbeaten streak.

They secured a 3-0 win against Vicenza in the Coppa Italia and followed that with a draw against Lecce in their Serie A opener. Despite a slow start to their last four Serie A seasons, Genoa will be looking for their first league win of the new campaign.

Key players like Aaron Martin, Valentin Carboni, and Nicolae Stanciu all came close to scoring against Lecce and will be vital for Genoa’s offensive push.

Team News

Juventus will be missing a few key players. The versatile wing-back Andrea Cambiaso is suspended for the match, serving the first of a two-game ban. He is joined on the sidelines by the injured duo of Juan Cabal and Fabio Miretti.

With Cambiaso out and Nicolo Savona set to transfer to Nottingham Forest, Joao Mario may be asked to fill in on the flank.

In the attack, Jonathan David is expected to lead the line due to the ongoing contract dispute surrounding Dusan Vlahovic.

David will likely be supported by Kenan Yildiz, who has been a standout performer since March with 11 goal involvements, more than any other Serie A player during that time.

On the Genoa side, the team will be without Caleb Ekuban and Sebastian Otoa due to injury. However, Leo Ostigard is expected to be fit enough to start.

The team will be looking to Lorenzo Colombo to spearhead the attack, following the departure of last season’s top scorer, Andrea Pinamonti.

New signings Arthur Gronbaek, Valentin Carboni, and Nicolae Stanciu have all made a strong impression and are set to support Colombo in the final third.
