Thiago Motta speaks out on Vlahovic’s future

In the ever-unpredictable world of football, drastic changes can occur overnight. For Dusan Vlahovic, the situation at Juventus seems to be heading toward an inevitable conclusion.

Despite arriving in Turin with high expectations and a significant financial investment, the Serbian striker now finds himself in an uncertain position.

With Thiago Motta at the helm, Vlahovic has struggled to secure a pivotal role within the team. The manager appears to favor alternative attacking options, often leaving Vlahovic with limited playing time.

This reality is at odds with the fact that he remains the highest-paid player in the squad. Such an economic and sporting imbalance is difficult to justify keeping a player of his caliber on the bench is neither financially nor tactically viable.

As a result, Juventus may look to offload Vlahovic during the upcoming summer transfer window. A sale could provide the club with necessary funds for reinforcements and help balance the wage structure.

While his future remains uncertain, the likelihood of his departure continues to grow. According to Ilbianconero, sources close to the club suggest that Juventus is already exploring potential suitors for the Serbian forward, with several top European clubs monitoring his situation.

During a recent press conference , Thiago Motta addressed Vlahovic’s role within the squad:

“There is always a chance for him to start, just like the others. You have seen him play alongside Kolo Muani before. The choices we make are aimed at achieving the best possible performance in each moment.”

While Motta’s response left room for speculation, it was clear that Vlahovic is not the automatic first-choice forward at Juventus.

Since the arrival of Kolo Muani at Juventus on January 23, Vlahovic has played approximately 166 minutes out of a possible 660—just around 25% of available game time.

This statistic is slightly inflated due to his full 90 minute appearance against Benfica, a match in which Kolo Muani was unavailable due to Champions League registration restrictions. The numbers paint a clear picture: Vlahovic has become a secondary option.

As Juventus prepares to face Cagliari, Motta is reportedly considering whether to start Vlahovic or Kolo Muani. The final decision will be made closer to match time, but the Serbian forward now faces a crucial moment to prove his worth. Will Motta stick with the dependable French striker, or will he give Vlahovic a chance to reclaim his status?

With summer fast approaching, the next few months could determine whether Vlahovic continues in Turin or seeks a fresh start elsewhere.
