How should Juventus solve the midfield situation ahead of next season?

Today, we assess the midfield situation of Juventus and decide on who should stay and be part of the club’s future, while who should go:

STAY:

Manuel Locatelli:

Manuel Locatelli will enter into the second season of his loan spell from Sassuolo. Juventus have a buy obligation to sign him at the end of the season around €25M which will defenitely be triggered.

Weston Mckennie:

The American midfielder hasn’t had the best season, but, I would still be keen to keep him at the club and hope for better things next season.

Denis Zakaria:

The midfielder bought from Gladbach in January, Zakaria stays at the club, there have been fitness concerns with him in the past months which he’ll hopefully overcome.

Nicolo Rovella:

Rovella has hardly played during the second half of the season for Genoa, but during the first half of the season, he’s proved that he’s ready to play a role in this Juventus side. Rovella has gained serie a experience in last two seasons as well, making over 20 appearences each time.

Fabio Miretti:

The Juventus talent whose recently featured against Venezia and Genoa has been impressive. Miretti, for me, should stay, play for under-23 and gain some experience in Serie A as well.

SIGNINGS:

Juventus have been linked with a number of midfielders which includes Paul Pogba, Milinkovic Savic, Jorginho & Frankie De Jong. The club is expected to hit a big shot this summer and Milinkovic Savic seems to be the dream of Juventini. Milinkovic Savic would fit perfectly alongside the five profiles who I would keep at the club next year.

LEAVE:

Arthur Melo:

The Brazilian has been really disappointing the whole season, his fitness is also concerning, the midfielder doesn’t seem to have trust of Massimiliano Allegri either. Arthur has to go for the benefit of both parties. A loan solution with some clause might be more attractive to interested clubs.

Adrien Rabiot:

The French will begin the last year of his contract in July, Although, Rabiot has improved in previous games, he’s still not someone who pleases. Juventus need to get rid of the midfielder this summer.

Aaron Ramsey:

Like Rabiot, Aaron Ramsey is in his final year of contract as well. Currently on loan at Rangers, Ramsey is expected to return to Juventus this summer. Juventus have to look a solution for him as well, a 1-year loan or a contract termination.

LOAN MOVES FOR YOUNGSTERS:

Nicolo Fagioli:

Fagioli is currently on loan at Cremonese in Serie B who have sealed promotion to Serie A for next season. Fagioli has been good in Serie B, scoring 3 goals and assisting 7, his contract ends in 2023 and Juventus have to renew him, According to reports, Cremonese would like to extend the midfielder’s loan and that would be a good idea imo.

Filippo Ranocchia:

Ranocchia is currently on loan in Serie B at Vicenza. Juventus need to loan him to some lower table Serie A side like Rovella is this season. Ranocchia, in the pre-season showed that he could be a promising prospect but he needs to be in Serie A.
