Juventus has been dealt a significant blow ahead of their upcoming Serie A clash against Hellas Verona, as star winger Timothy Weah is set to miss the match due to a muscle injury.

Weah who made an instant impact in his first league appearance for the Bianconeri, scored a stunning goal in their 3-0 victory over Como at the Allianz Stadium.

His powerful strike, which ricocheted off the crossbar and into the net just before halftime, helped Juventus secure a comfortable win, dashing any hopes of a comeback for Fabregas’ side.

However, the joy of Weah’s debut goal was short-lived. The American international was forced off the pitch after feeling discomfort in his right thigh shortly before scoring.

Subsequent medical examinations revealed a low-grade injury to his hamstring, ruling him out of Monday’s encounter with Verona, scheduled for 20:45.

Thiago Motta’s Dilemma: How to Replace Weah?

With Weah sidelined, Juventus manager Thiago Motta must now find an effective solution to fill the void on the right wing in his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.

The most likely option involves pushing Andrea Cambiaso further up the field. Cambiaso, who showcased his versatility and offensive prowess by scoring Juventus’ third goal in the closing minutes against Como, could be deployed as a right winger.

In this scenario, Danilo would drop back to cover the right-back position, with Cabal retaining his place on the left side of the defense. There’s also speculation that Savona, currently viewed as a strong contender, might play a role ahead of the captain.

Another alternative for Motta is to shift the young and promising Mbangula, born in 2004, to the opposite flank. However, this move seems less likely given Cambiaso’s experience and tactical suitability.

Cambiaso’s speed, dribbling ability, and work rate make him a natural choice to maintain balance on the right side without significantly altering the team’s structure.

As the Bianconeri prepare for their next challenge, all eyes will be on Motta’s selection decisions as he navigates this early-season setback.
