The deal for Fikayo Tomori to join Juventus will not happen this transfer window. Initially Tomori was going to stay in Milan because new coach Serigo Conceicao wanted to keep him in Milan, but then after consideration he gave the greenlight just for Tomori to turn the deal down saying he wants to stay in Milan.
This still leaves Juventus with a gap in defence after the ACL injuries from Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal. This has left Juventus with no defensive rotation that has been the key for Juventus this window. Alberto Costa has already been signed but Juventus need another.
Giuntoli has two options in his mind to bring in both coming from the Premier League. First is Llyod Kelly from Newcastle who joined from AFC Bournemouth in the summer on a free. But he has struggle for gametime playing under three hundred minutes so far this season.
A deal for Kelly would be very cheap as he is clear he is not needed at Newcastle. Plus, it would be good idea for Newcastle to get rid of him even if it’s cheap since he was signed for a free transfer it would be pure profit for the FFP (financial fair play). But he isn’t Juventus level at all and shouldn’t be pursued by Giuntoli.
The next option is Renato Veiga from Chelsea, Veiga only joined recently but hasn’t found enough gametime and is set to leave. Chelsea has put a 20-million-euro price tag on him. Other clubs such as Borussia Dortmund have been interested.
Talks with Juventus will begin tomorrow and there may be more than just Veiga discussed. Ben Chilwell could come to Juventus as well. He is seen as a short-term replacement for Andrea Cambiaso if he does go to Manchester City.
