Inter Milan have taken a step forward in closing the financial gap with Juventus after signing an improved sponsorship deal with global sportswear giant Nike.

According to FCInter1908, the renewed agreement will see Nike pay Inter approximately €28 million per season, solidifying the club’s place as the second-highest earners from a kit deal in Serie A, behind only Juventus.

The deal, which extends Inter’s long-standing partnership with Nike until 2031, was signed in the summer of 2023 and reflects the club’s growing commercial appeal. However, despite the improved terms, Inter still trail Juventus in this area.

The Turin-based club earns a staggering €46 million annually from their partnership with Adidas, maintaining a significant lead over their Serie A rivals.

Meanwhile, AC Milan come in third, receiving around €25 million per year from their deal with Puma.

When compared to clubs in other top European leagues, Italian sides still have ground to make up.

Real Madrid leads globally, generating about €120 million a year through Adidas, while Manchester City’s recent deal with Puma is reportedly worth €115 million per season.

Though Inter’s latest contract is a financial boost, the Serie A giants still face a long road if they are to match the sponsorship revenues of elite European clubs.

The new deal does, however, mark a positive step in their commercial growth strategy under CEO Giuseppe Marotta.
