Italy legend names the Juventus player Motta can’t do without

Former Italy and Inter Milan defender Beppe Bergomi has singled out Manuel Locatelli as a crucial figure in Thiago Motta’s Juventus squad, emphasizing the midfielder’s intelligence and influence on the pitch.

Juventus have been in fine form, securing four consecutive Serie A victories, with their latest triumph over Cagliari lifting them to fourth place in the league standings. The Bianconeri now hold a two-point advantage over Lazio as they push for a strong finish to the season.

During an analysis on Sky Sport Italia, Bergomi, a seasoned football pundit, shared his views on Juventus’ recent performances and Motta’s tactical approach.

“A few players are not in their best shape, like Cambiaso and Douglas Luiz, but I still believe Motta cannot do without Locatelli,” Bergomi stated. “He is an extremely smart player, someone who brings balance and intelligence to this team.”

Locatelli, a key figure in Juventus’ midfield, has played 24 league matches this season, accumulating 1,784 minutes on the field. While he has yet to score, the Italian international has provided two assists, showcasing his role as a pivotal playmaker in the squad.

Juventus have collected 49 points so far, with a record of 12 wins, 13 draws, and only one defeat. They have netted 43 goals while conceding 21, demonstrating solid defensive organization alongside their attacking prowess.
