Juventus have lost 1-0 against Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening. The Bianconeri are eight in Serie A and now seven points behind the top four. Max Statman gives you a quick breakdown and player ratings.

Juventus were incredibly sloppy in the first half. De Ligt didn’t have his best game in a Juventus shirt. He gave the ball away and Freuler smashed it over. Paulo Dybala came back into the starting eleven and showed himself. He dribbled past some Atalanta defenders, but his curler was too soft.

Juve’s best chance came from a counter. McKennie gave a great pass on Chiesa, but Toloi stopped him on his way to the goal. Then, Morata gave away possesion. Djimsiti immediately gave a pass to Zapata. Bonucci was nowhere to be seen and De Ligt cancelled the offside. Zapata made no mistake and put Atalanta in front.

Dybala got another oppurtonity to fire on goal on the edge of the box, but his shot was not on target. Atalanta were dangerous near the end of the first half, but couldn’t create real chances.

Juve push

The Bianconeri started pushing for the equalizer in the second half. Bernardeschi, who came on for Chiesa, shot on goal from outside the box. His attempt went wide. Bonucci launched McKennie towards Musso. Djimsiti intercepted, but Musso still had to make a save. Afterwards, Dybala’s volley went narrowly over the bar. McKennie went off injured after his rush.

Musso made another great save on Rabiot’s shot in the left bottom corner. Then Atalanta wanted a penalty after Pasalic and Cuadrado collided, but VAR didn’t intervene. Juve tried, but couldn’t break down Atalanta. De Ligt ‘s shot got blocked at the second post. It looked like Atalanta would survive.

Juventus came close once again in the extra time when Dybala’s free kick hit the bar. This is the Bianconeri’s fifth loss in Serie A.
