Juventus closed their pre-season campaign with a 2–1 win over Atalanta in the 26th edition of the Trofeo Bortolotti, played in Bergamo.

It was a night that showcased the depth and quality of Igor Tudor’s attacking options as new signing Jonathan David and substitute Dusan Vlahovic led the Bianconeri to a convincing win—despite a late spark from Lazar Samardzic.

The first half was a balanced contest, with both teams creating chances. Juventus came close through Yildiz and Koopmeiners, but Atalanta’s Carnesecchi was in excellent form, denying multiple efforts including a curling shot headed for the top corner.

In the second half, Juventus raised their intensity. Jonathan David opened the scoring with a spectacular overhead kick, finishing a precise assist from Nico Gonzalez. Soon after, Joao Mario, fresh off the bench, produced a clever run and set up Vlahovic, who clinically made it 2–0.

Atalanta pushed late and found a goal through Samardzic, who danced through defenders before slotting past Di Gregorio. However, the Bianconeri held firm to claim the trophy and head into the season opener against Parma with growing momentum.

Juventus’s Player Ratings

  • Di Gregorio (6) – Solid when called upon, especially early on with saves on Hien and De Ketelaere. No chance on Samardzic’s late goal.
  • Gatti (6) – Reliable performance on the right of the back three. Stayed focused throughout and kept things tidy before coming off.
  • Bremer (6) – Physically dominant as usual and looked sharper with his positioning. Important step toward full match fitness.
    (80′ Rugani – n/a)
  • Kelly (6) – Recovered well after a poor start. Strong defensive work against Scamacca and managed his flank well.
    (80′ Kalulu – n/a)
  • Nico Gonzalez (5) – Struggled to influence the match from the right wing. Too quiet in both phases of play.
(75′ Joao Mario – 6.5) – Immediate impact with a great run and assist for Vlahovic. Energetic and incisive.
  • Thuram (6.5) – Drove forward with intent and added verticality to Juve’s midfield. Often hard to stop in full stride.
    (75′ Locatelli – n/a)
  • Koopmeiners (5.5) – Started positively but faded as the game went on. Still adjusting to the deep-lying role.
  • Cambiaso (6) – Decent showing on the left, though lacked his usual influence in the final third.
    (75′ Kostic – n/a)
  • Conceição (6.5) – Bright between the lines. Good dribbling and creativity, though lacked end product in key areas.
    (80′ Adzic – n/a)
  • Yildiz (6.5) – Showed flashes of brilliance cutting in from the left. Came closest in the first half with a curling shot Carnesecchi did well to save.
    (91′ McKennie – n/a)
  • David (7) – Took time to settle but delivered with a stunning overhead kick. First real chance, first goal. A promising debut.
(75′ Vlahovic – 7) – Perfect impact sub. Scored with his first touch thanks to sharp positioning and clinical finishing.

In the summer build‑up, they played a series of friendlies: on 2 August they faced Reggiana at the Continassa training center, followed by a high‑profile outing on 10 August against Borussia Dortmund in Germany, then a traditional in‑house match versus Juventus Next Gen on 13 August at the Allianz, and wrapped things up in style with a 2‑1 victory over Atalanta in the Trofeo Bortolotti on 16 August.
