Juventus look set to sign Ronald Arajuo from Barcelona on a loan to buy to help strengthen the defence. This is because the defence has looked weak ever since Bremer and Juan Cabal suffered two ACL injuries.
Catalunya Radio have revealed that the fee will be €5 million for the loan which will go to Barcelona now, €20 million for his buyout clause and an extra €5 million in bonuses. This leads to a total of €30 million euros for Araujo.
Barcelona like this deal because the instant €5 million helps them register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, because they were having issues doing so. They already have an excess of centre backs to use so they can afford to get rid of Araujo.
Hansi Flick usually decides to start Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi with Jules Kounde starting at right back who can rotate in. Barcelona already has Eric Garcia and Andreas Christensen who can play in the role.
How does he fit in Turin
Arajuo would most likely start straight away once he gets to Turin in the back four. If Juventus line up the current way he would likely replace Gatti because they two are the same build of centre backs. They are both bigger and taller and less confident on the ball.
This would make him spend most of his minutes being next to Pierre Kalulu unless Kalulu moves over to the right-hand side to rest Nico Savona. Then Arajuo and Gatti would line up next to each other and this could cause other issues that won’t be suffered with Kalulu at centre back.
