Juventus and eye €20M Barcelona defender in January

Barcelona could face a crucial decision in the January transfer window, as both Juventus and Manchester United have reportedly expressed interest in signing Andreas Christensen.

According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, the Danish defender remains a hot commodity in the market despite spending significant time on the sidelines this season.

Christensen, who joined Barcelona in 2022 from Chelsea, has struggled with injuries during the current campaign. He has been out of action since the opening match against Valencia due to tendinopathy.

However, his return to training with the first team has reignited speculation about his future at the club.

Juventus, dealing with long-term injuries to key defenders Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal, is reportedly keen on a loan deal for Christensen.

Their need for defensive reinforcements could make this transfer a priority, especially with rumors suggesting that Danilo may leave the club in January.

Manchester United, on the other hand, is monitoring the situation closely. The Premier League side has a history of targeting players with proven success in English football, and Christensen’s time at Chelsea could make him an attractive option.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is unlikely to receive new signings in January due to the club’s financial constraints. However, the potential departure of Christensen could open the door for some flexibility in the squad.

The player himself has expressed a desire to stay at Barcelona, but with interest from top clubs in both England and Italy, a move cannot be entirely ruled out.

Juventus has reportedly taken proactive steps in negotiating for Christensen, while Inter Milan is also rumored to have shown interest earlier in December.
