Juventus target Dani Olmo in Beckham style loan deal amid Barcelona troubles

Reports from Italy indicate that both AC Milan and Juventus are exploring a potential loan move for Barcelona’s Dani Olmo, who finds himself sidelined due to LaLiga’s wage cap restrictions.

Olmo joined Barcelona in the summer of 2024 for a hefty €60 million but has since encountered unforeseen challenges. The Spanish club, constrained by LaLiga’s financial rules, registered him only for the first half of the 2024-25 season.

Despite efforts, Barcelona failed to meet the registration deadline for the second half of the campaign, rendering the Spain international ineligible for the remainder of the season.

This predicament has reportedly drawn attention from top European clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain. However, Italian giants Milan and Juventus are particularly keen to capitalize on this opportunity.

According to Calciomercato, both clubs are considering a loan deal reminiscent of David Beckham’s stint at AC Milan in 2009 and 2010. Given Barcelona’s financial constraints, neither Milan nor Juventus can afford to purchase Olmo outright in January.

A loan move would not only ensure Olmo gets valuable first-team minutes but also provide Barcelona a temporary solution without needing to offload the player permanently.

However, the success of such a deal hinges on Barcelona’s willingness to waive a substantial loan fee, which could otherwise complicate negotiations.

For Milan and Juventus, Olmo represents a chance to bolster their attacking options as they aim for domestic and European success.

As the January transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on Barcelona’s decision and whether the Italian clubs can finalize a deal that suits all parties.

This unfolding saga adds another layer of intrigue to the January transfer window, with Dani Olmo’s future hanging in the balance.
