Juventus have officially kicked off their pre-season preparations under head coach Igor Tudor, but the Serie A giants are far from ready for the 2025–26 campaign.

Tudor has asked for three more new players, but insiders suggest the Bianconeri will actually need at least five additional signings to become serious title contenders again.

Douglas Luiz Absent Without Permission

One of the early dramas in camp involves Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz, who has failed to report for training.

Juventus had not authorized his absence and are now expected to take disciplinary action. His exit from the club appears imminent, with negotiations for a potential sale set to accelerate.

Current New Signings: Just Two

So far, Juventus have brought in just two new players:

Jonathan David, who signed earlier this summer but has not yet joined pre-season due to an extended holiday.

João Mário, who underwent medical tests in Turin on Thursday and was greeted by fans.

Portuguese winger Francisco Conceição is also absent for now but is expected to join shortly, having also received additional rest time after his international duties.

New Management, New Expectations

New General Manager Damien Comolli is working hard to reshape the squad before the new season begins next month.

While Igor Tudor has identified three key areas that need strengthening, club sources suggest the squad still lacks depth and quality across multiple positions.

Five Key Positions Juventus Must Fill

  1. Centre-Forward: With Dusan Vlahovic likely to leave, Juventus are seeking a reliable striker. Talks are ongoing with PSG for Randal Kolo Muani, while Santiago Castro (Bologna) and Rasmus Hojlund (Manchester United) are also being monitored.

  2. Winger: Jadon Sancho could be a target if Nico Gonzalez departs. The Englishman would add pace and experience to Tudor’s attack.

  3. Centre-Back: Juventus are targeting Leonardo Balerdi and Jeff Chabot to bolster the backline after recent defensive struggles.

  4. Central Midfielder: The club has listed Morten Hjulmand, Yves Bissouma, and Sofyan Amrabat as midfield targets. Deals for Sandro Tonali and Davide Frattesi are unlikely due to high price tags.

  5. Right-Back: Discussions have been held with Atletico Madrid regarding Nahuel Molina, as the Old Lady looks to add more quality and dynamism down the flank.

With just a month remaining before the new Serie A season kicks off, Juventus must act swiftly in the transfer market.

The team’s lack of depth was already exposed during their FIFA Club World Cup exit against Real Madrid, and fans are eager to see a more competitive squad take shape.
