Juventus contemplates replacing Vlahovic

Juventus is at a crossroads with Dusan Vlahovic as contract renewal negotiations continue to stall. Despite months of discussions, the Serbian striker and the club have yet to find common ground, leaving Juve in a precarious position.

Vlahovic’s current contract runs until the end of the 2025/26 season, but Juventus is eager to extend his deal to secure his services for the long term. However, the club’s strategy of slashing operating costs complicates matters.

According to Il Bianconero, Juventus is asking Vlahovic to accept a reduced salary as part of its broader effort to streamline finances.

This policy has already seen the departure of several high-profile, high-earning players in recent years. Vlahovic, now the club’s top earner, is the latest to feel the effects of this cost-cutting approach.

Juventus is determined to avoid a scenario like that of Federico Chiesa, who left on a free transfer due to delayed contract talks.

Juventus has set a firm timeline for resolving the situation, aiming to secure an agreement by the end of the season. If negotiations fail, the club is prepared to sell Vlahovic in the summer transfer window rather than risk losing him for nothing when his contract nears its expiration.

The Serbian international remains open to staying in Turin, where he has been a pivotal figure since joining the team. However, he has rejected the club’s proposals for a pay cut.For Vlahovic, maintaining his current terms or securing a more favorable deal appears to be a priority.

While Juventus values Vlahovic’s contributions, financial constraints limit their ability to meet his demands.

This impasse has led the club to explore alternative options for replacing their star striker, should a resolution prove unattainable.

Letting Vlahovic go would be a significant blow to Juventus’ attack, as the striker has consistently delivered goals and proven his worth in high-stakes matches. However, the club must balance its financial priorities with its on-field ambitions.

If no agreement is reached, Juventus will likely prioritize selling Vlahovic at a competitive price to reinvest in a replacement.

The challenge will be finding a forward who can match his quality and fit seamlessly into manager Thiago Motta’s system.

Time is of the essence for Juventus. As the season progresses, the pressure mounts to find a resolution that aligns with both the club’s financial framework and its aspirations for success.

Whether Vlahovic stays or departs, Juventus’ handling of this situation will be closely scrutinized by fans and analysts alike.
