Juventus are set to sign two defenders according to Cristiano Giuntoli. Yet we are already a week into the transfer window and still no signing has been made. Sky Sport has explained why the deals haven’t happened so far.
Firstly, is David Hancko from Feyenoord was the first player Giuntoli was interested in. Now the move is looking more and more unlikely. This is because Feyenoord intend to sell Hancko in June instead of January.
This is because Feyenoord believe that it will cause a major unsettlement of the team this season as they still push for a league title. They are 10 points behind PSV but still believe that they can win the title. They are also four points from automatically qualifying for the Champions League.
Next is Antonio Silva from Benfica who Juventus where after but he is also looking very unlikely. Benfica unlike Feyenoord they will let Silva go just for the right price. So far Juventus has already made an offer to Benfica of a total of 35 million. 5 million from the loan and 30 million buy on clause.
This is not a right amount for Benfica who want more for the young centre back. Jorge Mendes who is the agent of Silva spoke around the transfer and said “It will be the club that decides” meaning that Silva can’t force his way out.
His agent Jorge Mendes has already worked with Juventus a lot as the agent of Cristiano Ronaldo. This could help bring Silva to Juventus easier. The good relation will make personal negotiants smoother.
Kevin Danso is the last centre back linked to Juventus as Juventus look for a loan for the Austrian centre back. Juventus have offered a loan to RC Lens but so far, they have denied the idea, as they are not interested.
Giuntoli may have to wait for some sales of Nicolo Fagioli, Arthur and Danilo to make these deals a possibility. The longer the negotiations last could be costly for Juventus with important fixtures coming quickly.
