Juventus weren’t able to win their first match in Serie A this season against Milan. The Bianconeri were dominant in the 1st half, but weren’t able to keep up the intensity for the 2nd half. Max Statman gives you a quick breakdown and player ratings.
What a start it was for Juventus. After 4 minutes, Morata opened the score with his 50th goal for Juventus. He whipped the ball over Milan goalkeeper Maignan after a great run. Juventus remained dangerous during the 1st half, with chances for Morata and Dybala. Milan really struggled with Dybala, who was dropping back very deep to get the ball. Juventus’s biggest chance in the 1st half came after a great attack. Dybala set up the attack, Bentancur gave a through ball on Rabiot who came close to goal but got caught by Tomori.
Juventus didn’t have a bad start in the 2nd half. A fantastic through ball by Bonucci put Rabiot in front of Maignan, but he failed to do anything with it. After that, Juve became less dominant. Although Milan had more possesion, they didn’t create too many big chances. Díaz came close, but couldn’t get a shot on target. In the 76th minute, Rebic caught Locatelli and Rabiot napping and headed in Tonali’s corner. Rebic almost scored again, but his shot missed the target and Kalulu was denied by Szczęsny. In the end, Juventus lacked the desire to win.
